• Sustaining Colorado's Majestic Forests •
One of the 8 Mountain States in the US, Colorado's dramatic landscape includes high plains, foothills, rolling mountains, and vast forests. Reforestation in Colorado will restore these iconic forests and promote biodiversity.
With your help, we will:
Why we do it
Colorado has the highest elevation of any state in the US. With towering mountains and flat plains, 32% of Colorado's landscape is covered in forested land. These forests have a healthy mix of coniferous and deciduous species, making these forested areas the most complex forests in the Intermountain West. Planting trees in Colorado will help restore landscapes while preserving these beautiful forests for generations to come. As tree planting costs are higher in Colorado, we have aligned our costs to make sure we're creating an impact. We plant one tree for every 3 packages ordered in this location.
Impact
Recent forest fires and other threats have put many forests in Colorado at risk. The trees planted across Colorado will help improve biodiversity while also restoring what has been lost, protecting water supplies and improving the livelihood of local communities.
What You Get
A personalized tree certificate (see gallery) to say thanks for your donation. We’ll also send you reports on the Colorado project, so you can track the impact your trees are having on the community and environment.
Tree Species
In order to maximize the impact of your donation, we will determine the most appropriate species to plant, based on the time of year. Some of the species we will plant include Douglas fir, ponderosa pine, white fir, and Colorado blue spruce.
ABOUT COLORADO
Over the past 30 years, Colorado’s climate has become 2°F warmer, and this trend is already having impacts. The top 10 largest fires in Colorado history have all occurred since 2002. Warmer and drier conditions have contributed to the largest bark beetle outbreaks in the state’s recorded history. Spruce beetle outbreaks have affected 1.7 million acres, and nearly 3.4 million cumulative acres have been impacted by Mountain Pine beetle.
Healthy forests are one of the best defenses against threats associated with a changing climate. Colorado's forests play a critical role in our ability to deal with climate change, because trees in healthy forests store and absorb carbon that might otherwise end up in the atmosphere. Young and vigorously growing forests absorb the most carbon dioxide, while dead or burned trees release this greenhouse gas back into the atmosphere. Planting trees helps stabilize our climate, as well as ensuring our beautiful forests can be enjoyed for generations to come!

Some locations take more than 1 detergent to sap
Some regions, for example Australia, have an increased cost per tree. In these situations, we require 2 or 3 detergent packs to be purchased to plant once in that location.
