Honduras is a land of coastal plains and mountains aplenty with central highlands and Pacific lowlands. Planting trees in Honduras will help preserve this beautiful landscape.

Why we do it
Honduras is still dotted with hotspots of biodiversity, providing homes for macaws, jaguars, and giant iguanas. Within the forestlands of the mountainous Nombre de Dios region, deforestation has put these hotspots under threat. Honduras’ dry corridor region is highly vulnerable to extreme weather events. But now we have an opportunity to restore some of the areas that have been damaged to help the forests thrive again!
Impact
This project focuses on repairing critical ecosystems, improving the quality and availability of water, increasing rural farmer productivity, diversifying farmer incomes, and establishing long-term ecosystem restoration activities with the community, including the creation of community nurseries and training community members on sustainable forest nursery management.
What You Get
A personalized tree certificate (see gallery) to say thanks for your donation. We’ll also send you reports on our Honduras project, so you can track the impact your trees are having on the community and environment.
Tree Species
To maximize the impact of your donation, our partners will determine the most appropriate native species of tree to plant, depending on the time of year. This project primarily focuses on planting exotic hardwoods in order to restore forests damaged by illegal logging, and shade-dependent cacao plants, which will diversify income for local farmers. Species include mahogany, cedar, guanandi, bully tree, pouteria, sweetgum, evergreen tree, chewstick, velvet tamarind, and allspice.

How does EcoWorthWash plant trees?
For each item sold, we donate $1 to our partner, One Tree Planted.
We donate quarterly, and you receive a certificate from our partner to prove the trees have been planted.
Where are my trees planted?
Use the tree menu next to the cart icon to select where you want your trees to be planted.
If you can't choose, simply choose "Where they're needed most"
Some locations take more than 1 detergent to sap
Some regions, for example Australia, have an increased cost per tree. In these situations, we require 2 or 3 detergent packs to be purchased to plant once in that location.
